Our meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 focused on two topics:

- Safety

You may participate by coming to the meeting or be on a conference call. We want to accommodate as many people as possible.

CANNA LILLIES FOR CANA CORNERS
Given their beauty and presence, we have chosen to feature canna lilies in our design for our corner plantings. The canna lillies will be featured along with marigolds, hostas and a small evergreen.
The planting will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2011 starting at 9:30AM. Please come out to participate in the transformation.
YOUR SAFETY REQUIRES SOME EFFORT BY YOU
The weather is heating up and we can expect the activity in the streets to heat up as well. We insist that Austin residents get the same level of police service as any other community.
There are organizations that will support our effort to ensure that Austin receives an equitable share of police services. However, they can’t work for us if we don’t do some of the work.
Data is powerful. We must document our calls to the police and how the police handle our calls. Once we get this data we will have a powerful weapon in our fight for equality.We must keep records of how our calls are handled.
