Internal and external resources needed<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly status report for each meeting and post on web site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Facilitator:\u00a0 Marvin Marshall<\/p>\n<p>Goals\/Purpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with all blocks to design a beautification plan<\/li>\n<li>Build a team of volunteers to assist block with corner plantings, trash pick up, alley cleaning, yard work and home repairs for the elderly.<\/li>\n<li>Explore a non profit landscaping and\/or home repair business that hires and trains\u00a0community members in need of work.<\/li>\n<li>Design and launch an anti-litter campaign in our neighborhood.<\/li>\n<li>Work with City to revive anti-litter campaigns in the \u00a0Austin community that includes our schools and businesses with &#8220;Adopt a Hi-way&#8221; principles.<\/li>\n<li>Work with City to get beautification support that includes tools, aggressive litter enforcement, dilapidated garage tear downs, board ups and abandoned buildings clean-up, grants, graffiti clean-up, storm drain cleaning, standing water, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Build beautification teams on each block<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tasks:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; cut grass<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; weed clean-up<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; string trimming<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; flower planting<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; trash pick up<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; train on landscaping<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; equipment loan\/rental<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; donate plants, flowers<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cana16.com\/?cat=4\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Beautification Blog Posts<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Block Beautification Committee Overview: Create a more inviting visual of our neighborhood.
